January 19, 2013. A lot of things I end up drawing are just reactions to what I see around me, whether it's something beautiful, or something less admirable. This is one of those drawings that is a reaction to what I would call blatant me-ism. I wish sometimes I could just wear blinders, or even rose-colored glasses for that matter. But there sure seems to be not enough emphasis on the pursuit of life, and way too much emphasis on the pursuit of liberty and happiness.

Wow Rob, you surpassed yourself. What a fantastic image. Superb linework, fantastic use of values and depth. Fit for a scrooge novel.
The tones and colours on the sketch are superb Rob. It really lifts off the screen with character and form. Your words also leave me nodding in agreement & understanding.
